Project Overview
Save the Children Federation, Inc., in collaboration with CARE International and Life Helpers Initiative (LHI), is implementing an intervention plan to address critical needs in conflict-affected areas of Yobe State, Nigeria.
Target Population and Objectives
The program targets 170,571 vulnerable individuals, including women, children under five, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The objective is to improve resilience and reduce negative coping strategies through integrated multi-sectoral interventions.
Key Activities
- Nutrition Support: Nutrition-related activities, including MUAC screenings and community support groups for Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition in Emergencies (MIYCN-E)
- Healthcare Services: Provision of healthcare services to vulnerable populations
- WASH Initiatives: Implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives
- Agricultural Assistance: Provision of agricultural assistance to support livelihoods
- Multipurpose Cash Transfers: Distribution of multipurpose cash transfers to support vulnerable households
Implementation
Life Helpers Initiative (LHI) plays a critical role as the local partner, focusing on direct community-level implementation. The project emphasizes gender-sensitive and inclusive practices, addressing risks such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and ensuring equitable access to lifesaving resources.
