Overview of the TSHIP Project in Partnership with Life Helpers Initiative (LHI)

The Targeted States High Impact Project (TSHIP), funded by USAID, aimed to improve health outcomes in Sokoto State by enhancing the quality and availability of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) services. In partnership with Life Helpers Initiative (LHI), the project addressed key health challenges by fostering collaboration between government agencies, healthcare providers, and communities to deliver impactful interventions.

Key Objectives:

1. Strengthen health systems to improve MNCH service delivery.
2. Build the capacity of healthcare workers to provide quality care.
3. Promote community awareness and demand for health services.

LHI's Contributions:

• Capacity Building: Conducted training and mentoring sessions for healthcare workers to enhance their knowledge and skills in maternal and child health.
• Community Engagement: Mobilized community members through advocacy and awareness campaigns to increase demand for health services, including antenatal care, immunization, and skilled birth attendance.
• Supportive Supervision: Partnered with local health authorities to monitor and improve service delivery across healthcare facilities.

Impact:
The partnership between TSHIP and LHI resulted in improved access to and utilization of MNCH services, contributing to better health outcomes for mothers and children in Sokoto State. By working at the grassroots level, LHI strengthened community trust in healthcare systems and supported sustainable health improvements.

This collaboration underscores the importance of integrated efforts to address maternal and child health challenges in underserved regions.
